That way EVERYONE was on equal terms, playing the game the same as anyone else. You could create your own servers where you could mod your system, but if you wanted to play publically you had no choice but to have your folder scanned and wiped if you modded. If it detected changed files, it deleted them and re-downloaded the correct ones from the vendor site. Why not get rid of them entirely? America's Army (free tactical fps) had a system in place that scanned and scrubbed the folder where the game was installed to block mods. Armored warfare doesn't use mods, neither does Warthunder. Why doesn't WG just remove mod's from the game entirely? I haven't looked, but unless I miss my guess both World of Warplanes (although who cares) and World of Warships do not use mods. Ya know, every day I hear of someone complaining/accusing someone else of cheating due to mods and what not.
